Alabama Cotton Commission

The Alabama Cotton Commission was established in May 1982. The Commission is composed of 11 producer members and is authorized to conduct programs of research, promotion and education. Funding for the Commission’s programs is derived from per-bale dues assessments deducted by the ginner. The wise investment of these funds has laid the foundation for cotton’s return to prominence in Alabama.

The producer’s dues contribution makes him or her a member of the National Cotton Council and Southern Cotton Growers. These organizations, along with the Alabama Farmers Federation, have worked at the national level to provide farm program benefits to Alabama producers.
